Our favourite five Ecodesign ready stoves

Here is a list of 5 of our favourite Ecodesign ready stoves that are currently available, for those wondering what the score is with Ecodesign let me explain; Ecodesign is a European scheme set up to help lower emissions, that will be enforced from 2022.

The Ecodesign Aim

Its primary aim is to increase the environmental benefits of log burners. This new act will help keep the air clean by reducing the emissions that are released into the atmosphere. Something here at Eco Log Burners we care about greatly.

Some stove companies have already started producing Ecodesign Stoves, here are some of our favourites.

Termatech’s TT20R is one of our favourite free standing wood burning stoves ideal for that modest size kitchen extension where a 5kw is all you need and with an energy efficiency of 83.4 its most definitely a stove that’s going to pay for its self in no time.

If you’re not into curves check out the Nordpeis Quadro 2, a 6.2 kW stove with a whole lot of features including  an air wash system and Cleanburn technology. Its large corner window means that it can be enjoyed from many angles. One feature that’s also quite attractive is its ability to be able to fit an external air supply kit which means no unwanted draughts. Just a whole lot of impressed friends and at 80.4 efficiency so are we.

A similarly modern stove that is in the 5kw bracket that I know a lot of stove shoppers are looking for is the Stovax Vogue small eco. Which is a contemporary stove with a huge heart it comes with options for underneath firebox wood storage or bench and has an 81.1 efficiency.

The Charnwood Bay 5 BX is one of our favourite inset stoves, its has a 5kw heat output and has an 81% efficiency. What we love most is its widescreen letterbox style viewing window and the choice of 8 colours means it fits with any interior home design, however unique.

Lastly the JØTUL F 520 is a special stove, its 3 glass panels give you panoramic views ensuring that you never miss the action. At 7kw its got a good kick and with its 77% efficiency and Ecodesign status, it is most definitely going to be one for the future.
